Jamie Cooper-Higgins

Hello! I'm Jamie and I'm the current Chair of CMC. I joined the club in early 2024 and have since been active across walking, running, and anything social. I have been known to climb on occasion but you're more likely to find me very close to the ground. My goal as Chair is to foster the special culture developed over the years - a welcoming environment where members can find adventure, challenge themselves, learn new skills safely, and ultimately make great friendships. If you're new to the club please do come say hello if you see me!

Vice Chair

James Atkinson

Hi Gang, I’m James the Vice Chair this year for CMC. I spend more of my life than I’d care to mention thinking about Scottish hills. I have previously been the walks lead for the club and before that a walk coordinator. The club has been a huge part of developing my skills and who I am as a person, I am delighted to give something back for another year. A goal for myself & my time on Committee this year is to improve and finetune our onboarding process, I am sure there will be wider touchpoints on this with the membership throughout the year! Aside from some of the more adminy side of the club I want to help redevelop I am keen to continue to organise hut trips and new walks & scrambles to the membership! Treasurer

Mark Waddoups

I'm Mark, and I'm the club treasurer. I'm responsible for handling new memberships and renewals, as well as ensuring we have funds for hut trips and bolstering our club kit stores. I also manage the website, so do get in touch if you have any feedback at all. In club terms, I'm more of a trail runner and walker than climber, so you're more likely to find me at those events. I live in Callander but am often in town for one reason or another. Looking forward to helping out this year again on committee!

Secretary

Elizabeth Porter

Hello, I'm Lizzie and I am the secretary of CMC this year. As secretary, I am responsible for maintaining club policies and am the official point of contact for external queries, so please get in touch with any questions at all about the club! As a club member I am an active climber, mountaineer, skier and trail runner with a particular passion for obscure and long Scottish mountain days. I also love the social aspect of the club and can usually be spotted at pub-based events. Look forward to seeing you on the hill!

Jacob Nicol

Hi, I’m Jacob, this year’s CMC committee member for trail running. You’re most likely to find me at the Wednesday social runs, but I’m also a regular on the hiking trips. And if you still can’t locate me, check the nearest pub. I’m keen to build on the enthusiastic trail running community we already have at the club and make sure there’s something for everyone – whether you’re a complete beginner or a fanatic ultra-runner. If you’ve got any questions, feedback or suggestions about trail running at CMC, drop me a message on Discord and I’ll do my best to help!

Hiya! I'm Meg the Kit Officer! I'm a Lake District girl that loves getting out - walking, scrambling, maybe dipping in cold water, and dabbling in some winter mountaineering too! If you're new to mountaineering or exploring new activities like climbing or winter, equipment can be a barrier. That's why we have a collection of books, maps, and mountaineering equipment for you to borrow! Reach out if you want to use anything, and I'll help you out!

Shannon Millard

Hi everyone! I’m Shannon, your Social Secretary. I’ve been part of the club since summer 2024. You’ll most commonly find me hillwalking, though I’m dabbling with getting more into climbing and trail running too. My main aim for this year is fostering and building the sense of community in the club. I intend for socials to connect members across disciplines as well as help newer faces feel welcome. I also want the social calendar to reflect the events people want to see, so please do reach out with ideas or feedback, whether that’s in person, on Discord, or via the form on the website. I hope to see you all at a social sometime soon!
